So my man and I went shopping at our local Whole Foods.

I saw Ed Begly Jr. there and made eye contact. He scurried away as though I gave half a shit about him. I appreciate his activism, but seriously not a fan.

Five minutes before him, Jeff muttered something "*mumble mumble*"

Me: "What?"

Jeff "MUMBLE MUMBLE *pointing*"

So I look. Jay Leno. Neat... OMG THAT LEATHER BAG HE'S GOT IS AWESOME I WANT ONE!!!!

Apparently, I'm not a star-struck type. But seriously.. his bag was finely crafted leather... SO nice. makes me want to be rich so I can have one.

Surreal to see two celebrities withing 5 minutes at the store you always shop at.. but really... whatever. <lj:music>Jimi Hendrix, Are You Experienced, I Don't Live Today</lj:music>

I Picked up my bass last night for the first time in a LONG time. I remembered how much I love playing, and how much I miss playing with others. I thought I'd have forgotten things I'd played, but much like riding a bicycle (sans the possibility of falling off and hurting myself)you never forget. It felt good doing my scales and stretching out my fingers. I even do a pretty good "Fire" by Hendrix.

I really miss being in a band.

So here it is: Less time wasted, more time playing bass again. And I will look for similar minded people that would also like to join me, come over, PLAY. I need to play again, for myself if not for others. I guess that is my New Year's resolution. Beats the shit out of curbing my drinking, smoking and loose men.

Two Big Parties One Week

So, last Saturday, I lost my Santacon virginity.

Santacon is a group of like-minded individuals that dress up as santas and roam around the city being kind to kids, having fun, and partying hardcore. The Los Angeles party was fun, we went from downtown to Watts to Long Beach to Hollywood. There was a lot of social interaction, giving candy to people, drinking, and overall general merriment. There was even a boat ride, but I was at a brewery at the time so I missed out.

Overall, definitely something I’d love to do again and something that I will remember always.

Now I come to my office Christmas party. It was a large corporate thing. They rented out a club on the Sunset Strip and even though I am not the club type, I had a fricking blast. The food was great. The bar was open. People were for the most part friendly and having fun. There was a really good DJ there that played a TON of different music from the 50’s to the present.

At first, no one from our office was dancing. Well, Hell! I was there to have a good time, so after talking to my coworker, we went for it. “We will start the dancing” he told me.

And that we did. And it was a lot of fun. I don’t dance well, but dammit, I danced my ass off for most of the night. They played so much good stuff and the entire vibe was awesome. They launched confetti out as they played “One More Time” by Daft punk. The only time I stopped dancing was to get hydrated.

As far as corporate Christmas parties I’ve been to, this was by far the bomb.

Lucky me, two of the best parties I have ever attended all in the same week. Pictures to follow soon!

So I'm here. So I should at least use it, right?

I'm back from Maui and it was a great trip. I got to snorkel, see a lot of natural island beauty in a more laid-back enviroment than Oahu (that's saying something), drove to the summit of a volcano, rode a boat, went to the rainforest, saw fruiting tropical trees, drove to Hana, had a lot of fish, not enough fruit, saw a gigantic mountain phallus and overall had a great time. I will be blogging my journey soon.

And now it's time to look for a Santa Costume and celebrate the holidays with my friends, make some tamales, and go see some shows. I'm ready to have some more fun.

Aloha, bitches.
